The Plough West Hanney is a lovely 16th century inn nestling in the quaint village of West Hanney near Grove and Wantage in Oxfordshire. We are located opposite the village church.
The Plough is the hub of the local community and most of the local clubs meet here from time to time. This includes the fishing club, shooting club, book club, cricket club and the golf society.
Most Wednesdays during the summer our "Aunt Sally" team meet to play in the Abingdon Aunt Sally leaque. The first Wednesday of every month we have a popular pub quiz.
The pub is divided into two main areas; a traditional bar serving at least 4 real ales and up to 9 during our beer festivals in May and August, and the lounge which sits up to 30. We offer an extensive food menu with traditional pub favourites as well as some more interesting and adventurous dishes.
The pub is listed in both the Good pub guide and the Real Ale Guide.
Outside we have a covered patio area for additional dining or relaxed drinking and a wonderful large walled mature garden ideal for a warm summers day or evening.
We welcome family dining and the pub is dog friendly.
Please take a look at our menu page for our main dishes although these will change from time to time to keep the menu interesting and seasonal.
Our events page will keep you up to date with the forthcoming activities.
Please feel free to contact us by email or via facebook and let us know what you think. We love to know how we are doing so if you are happy please tell us, if you are not please tell us also so we can ensure that you next visit meets your expectations.
We're a popular place to be so it's advisable to book a table for dining over the weekend.
We can't wait to see you soon!
